New conbee2 usb stick reconnect every time

Hi!

I try to setup my new conbee2 stick. But it have a strange behavior. When I connect the stick to one of my systems, the stick connect and de-connect every 10 seconds!

I see this on:

  • Banana PI M5 (Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.9.312-BPI-M5 aarch64))
  • Thinkpad T450s ArchLinux (Linux augustus 5.19.10-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue, 20 Sep 2022 15:17:59 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux)
  • Thinpad T14 Windows10

The lsusb show the stick while connection established.

I readed some solutions to update the firmware. But I don’t think, this will work in 10 secounds.

I’ve no idea whats going wrong!

Is the stick booting every time? Is there a hardwareproblem?

Many thanks!

Regards from Cologne
Thomas

Hi,

Have you already done a search on this forum ? There are several posts for this kind of issue, ie https://forum.phoscon.de/t/conbee-ii-periodically-disconnecting/510

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, I have found these entries. But for me, it looks a little different.

There it is recommended to update the firmware. But my stick is not connected for so long! So it is not accessible to reflash it.

I also tried with and without extension cable. No change.

The Banana Pi also has only USB3 ports. There is no change in behavior to my Thinkpad with USB2.

Thomas

Hi,

Just try to update the firmware. Your best off using windows for this. In that 10 seconds, it should take it.

Success!! At the end, i had 5 secounds. I had not thought! But it works!!

Many thanks! Now the stick is still available.

Thomas
