Devices not reachable

Hi all

I have a lot of sensor and plugs paired with my ConBeeIII connected to a RaspberryPi. This worked fine until today. Out of the blue all my devices are “not reachable”. I didn´t change anything and I am not aware off any automatic update. I hoped on an automatic recovery and waited for about 6 hours.
I see the “not reachable” in the phoscon app.

I switched the RaspberryPI off, completely removed it from power, and waited about 10 minutes and switched it on again. That did not help.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance for any help.

To add,

I have a lot of copies of the zll.db (taken automatic every day) Using the version of yesterday didn´t solve the issue.
The ConBeeIII gives the yellow and blue lights si it does something

Same here several weeks ago.
I had to change the Conbee Stick, it was defective.

(although I could flash the actual firmware to the stick via Chrome)

Hello, taking a look in logs ?
Try the conbee on another machine, a PC ?

Too few chance the conbee is broken

Using an old version of zll.db is not the same thing than using a zigbee backup made with phoscon, the zll.db file don’t contain zigbee network configuration.

Hi Smanar

I looked at the logs as described here How to get logs?

That show me nothing where I see anything I could use. What I recognize is API error 202,…Device is not reachable

I tried to connect the ConBeeIII to my test raspberry with an old installation, including deconz software, zll.lib etc. That didn’t help.

So I would say it is not my raspberry hardware, not a cable and not the software. So I guess it can only be the ConBeeIII

Any other suggestions?

If I order a new one, is it sufficient to plug it in to the existing installation?

Thanks

I am afraid I am in the same situation. At least I have no idea what else it may be.

Can you share your log to see if it’s not just a configuration corruption ? (the network configuration is on the device)

You need a backup, else you will need to re-include all your devices.

Hi Smanar

The debug log can be find here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LdsMPiPU0IG9U8RjkXnI-XgouwEAvEjnLin4MsQTxd0/edit?usp=sharing

and this is the page with the channel etc.

or

BTW I made a backup from the not working conbeeIII this should work for the replacement?

And I tried to load the previous settings. That didn’t fix the issue either.

Anything als I can try/do ?

Thanks for al your help so far.

At last I did the following steps:

  1. backup the ‘broken’ ConBeeIII
  2. switched the rasperry off
  3. plugged in a replacement ConBeeIII
  4. restarted the Raspberry with the ConBeeIII

Then most of my sensors and plugs reappeared. I found out several battery power sensors didn´t appear but there battery where low. (Probably because they tried to connect days long.) After replacing they batteries the reappeared also.

So my conclusion it is something with my first ConBeeIII. If there is still anything to bring it back to live or is worth investigating, I am happy to try things.

Thanks again for the advice.

I can’t access to your log file, can you use classic site like pastebin ?

Without backup restoration ?
The replacement Conbe3 have already worked ? Because like I have said before, there is network setting on the device like the key or the mac adress, if the second conbee don’t have same , it can’t work.

If you have a GUI, network problems are generaly visibles on this page Network lost and configuration restore does not help · dresden-elektronik/deconz-rest-plugin Wiki · GitHub

Hi Smanar

The debug.txt is now on paste bin. 21:57:15:708 /home/beheerder/.local/share/dresden-elektronik/deCONZ/config.ini - Pastebin.com

Sorry I indeed restored the backup on the new ConBeeIII as you told me. I checked it and before the restore the sensors did not reappear.

Network lost and configuration restore does not help · dresden-elektronik/deconz-rest-plugin Wiki · GitHub

I tried saving the network settings as written. I guess I pushed save about 50 times
This didn´t help

I shut down my current running ConBeeIII and its reaspberry. Waited 2 hours and then started my test raspberry with my old ConBeeIII.

None of my plugs and sensors where reachable in the phoscon app. Then I removed 1 plug
and tried to include it again. It could not be found.

I have no ideas what else to try. Anyone?

Thanks again for all the assistence

So you have a working backup ? It’s a good new.
Restore it on the not working device don’t work ?

On your logs, nothing special yet for me but you have lot of line like this one ?

21:57:20:137 node 0x00212EFFFF0DB96B leave wait state

I don’t thing it’s connexion issue as you haven’t changed something, but can be a network issue.
You have enabled the flag “error” and “error_l2” ?
Nothing in logs when tried to re-include your plug ?

I haven’t asked what was your version, but you can try a firmware update.

[/quote][

It was the backup from the not working device. I can try what happens if I restore it on the not working device, which is the same device as where the backup is taken from.

Does it say anything to you?

Sorry I didn´t enable the log during this try. I won’t be able to do any test the next 14 days. I will report back in 14 days

Yes, but as far as I can see this is the latest firmware version.

A device can decide to leave the network (and rejoin imediatly after, but if you have all device making that and not rejoin, it’s worrying.
The problem is this line is from the last lines of your logs.

Some users have solved their problem with re-installing the firmware, but I doubt it will change anything

As no one asked this question yet: Are you using a usb-extension cord ?

Yes and No. Normally yes, but I tried without too.

Hi

Today I first did a rstore with the backup, from the conbeeIII with problems but this backup works and a new conbeeIII. This didn’t help

II flashed wih the latest firmware, although installed was the latest firmware. That didn’t help.

I think we are running out of ideas how to save the conbeeIII

Thanks for the help
