I think you need to move the ssd away here too.
You can try the extension cable but I doubt if it works.
Been reading about shielding issues from USB 3 SSDs and radio signals in the Pi4 (argon cases as well, so I guess the cheapest option would be to try the usb extender to see if that works. Thanks again for spending time on this!

Quick update on this, an extension cable of 1.5m did the trick, I successfully added the sensor
