Hello!
I’m using Conbee 2 USB stick with zigbee2mqtt. I would would like to have a spare usb stick.
Is it safe to unplug the conbeee 2 usb stick from my zigbee2mqtt computer, insert in a computer with deCONZ/Phoscon App and create/restore a backup to another usb stick?
I don’t want to loose all my bindings. I’m afraid that the deCONZ will do any initialisation while starting.
In case youre running the latest version of z2m and also have the ConBee at the latest firmware version (see https://github.com/dresden-elektronik/deconz-rest-plugin/wiki/Update-deCONZ-manually) you only need to unplug the “original” ConBee and plugin the new clone target, while z2m is not running. On next z2m start the deconz z2m adapter will then apply the configuration to the new unit automatically.
Be aware that the two ConBees shouldn’t be powered at the same time in proximity since they would fight as clones over the Zigbee network.
Hello Manup
Thanks four your answer, cloning was successfull!
Next step is to replace Conbee 2 with Conbee 3. Can I do exactly the same thing?
I’m using with z2m version 2.4.0 commit bdb94da4
serial:
port: /dev/ttyACM0
adapter: deconz
advanced:
adapter_delay: 200
as far as I know I have to remove “adapter_delay” and change port to ttyUSB0
Yes with ConBee 3 and older ConBee 1 it’s the same process. Only thing to keep in mind is using the latest firmware so all parameters are correctly updated.
