What are the random GitHub releases?

Hi there!

I am watching releases of the dresden-elektronik/deconz-rest-plugin repo on GitHub to make sure I catch the latest stable version once that’s released. Seeing a few beta releases (like v1.12.3-beta) is normal, but the list is more or less flooded with other random releases that I find no information on. What’s that about? And they all seem to have random names like:

  • Tannhäuser Gate
  • 2nd Оtava Ё
  • Оtava Ё
  • Rantanplan
  • Intertwingled
  • Manticore
  • Stackframe
  • Kvar i min bil

I’m mostly asking to understand if I (an end user) need to know anything about them. But I’m also asking just to make you aware that this might make it harder than necessary for people to follow your release cycle, so it might be worth considering changes to the shipping workflow.

Cheers!

P.S. Super annoying that I cannot post more than 2 links. Random rule to have…

Thats only for new users, just for spam prevention

Lol, on my side I search where the name is from in all version ^^
At start it was old jazz music group, but yes I think now they are more random

It’s the name of the final release after each beta

Blues! Not Jazz

Lol, ok sorry.
But I think for some young users, it s same.

But surely there are not dozens of releases for each new version?

I’m at 2.12.06 and would like to see if there is a newer version available. GitHub releases is flooded with Blues bands, is there anywhere I can find the list of released versions?

I made a reasonable guess, but there’s so many categories that sounds plausible.

The GitHub releases page contains both, the version number (on the left) and title plus respective changelog:
